Jordan Society For Human Rights

       JSHR was founded in 1996, on the 48th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The basic functions of the JSHR are to define citizens' rights, interfere in the public issues of human rights in the country, such as the freedom of opinion expression, uphold awareness regarding human rights throughout the media and education, review laws in accordance with Jordan's committee to the international conventions and train new members on the definition of human rights. JSHR organizes conferences, seminars, workshops for developing awareness on human rights among Jordanian citizen, publishes reports on the respect of human rights in Jordan. Recently, JSHR has been preparing a guide to ten thousands of Tutors in Jordan and also in the other Arabic Countries to advice and help them in teaching human rights. JSHR is an active member of the international federation for the leagues of human rights (Paris), the Society has a strong relations with several Arab and International Federation for the Leagues of Human Rights Organization. The Society publishes also a periodical bulletin in Arabic "Hurriyt" (Freedoms).

The Cultural Society for Youth and Childhood

       The Cultural Society focuses on programs for the youth with the aim of strengthening the role youth plays in the society. We do programs on democracy building, community development, leadership skills, voluntarism, civil society, etc.

       The National Society for Democracy and Freedom of Expression focuses programs related to encouraging key sectors within the community to voice their opinions on issues relating to human rights, democracy building, opening communication channels with the government and other opposition groups and most importantly expressing the concerns of the people on issues affecting their every day life.
